Dear Coaches and Team Managers:

Welcome to the 38th Annual Northeast Regional Tournament. We are pleased to outline some general information, playing rules, and tournament schedule on the following pages. PLEASE READ the following information and familiarize yourself with our playing rules, tiebreaker procedures, and other special rules in the tournament, especially our zero-tolerance policies. YOU are responsible for understanding and making sure your team and parents comply with the rules so as not to penalize your team. We hope you enjoy our Tournament and good luck to all.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  1. Arrival: Please report to the Tournament registration table in the rink lobby upon arrival. The tournament coordinator will assist you with locker room assignments and answer any questions you may have.
  2. Locker room: The locker room situation varies between the three different rinks that we run our tournaments from. Please check in with the onsite tournament representative when you arrive at the rink. Damages will be assessed to any team for defacing or damaging the locker room or locker room area or bathrooms.
  3. Game sheets: Teams do not have to fill out game sheets. These sheets will be filled out prior to the tournament games by FCHA based on the rosters previously submitted. Only players appearing on the previously submitted rosters may play in the tournament.
  4. Conflict of Jersey Color: All teams should have two different jersey colors with one of the jersey colors predominantly white. The home team has choice of jersey color but, as a matter of common courtesy, the home team should consult with the visiting team to avoid jersey color conflict.
  5. Start Time/Game Length: All attempts will be made to start games on time as scheduled. Teams MUST BE READY TO PLAY 20 MINUTES BEFORE the scheduled start time. Delays in the first face off shall be subtracted from the time of the first period and a delay of game penalty may be assessed to the team causing the delay at the discretion of the tournament official assigned to the game. Games will be played in three, 12-minute period lengths.
  6. TIME OUTS: NO time outs are allowed during the round robin portion of the tournament. Each team will be allowed ONE time out (60 Seconds) in the Championship Game, which can be taken at any time during the game.
  7. Parent/Fan Conduct: Parents and fans are reminded that youth hockey is a game played by kids for fun. Parents and fans that lose sight of this fundamental tenet of youth sports are not welcomed at our tournament. There will be absolutely zero tolerance for abuse of any game official, coach, or player by any spectator. It will be the responsibility of the head coach of each team to keep control of its fans. Very stiff penalties, including game forfeits, will be imposed for abuse of any game official, coach, or player. Please see Item 10 of the NERT playing rules for more details.

Please read the Playing Rules of the Tournament and if you have any questions, please contact Sherri Durant, the NERT Director, for clarification.

Thank you for participating in the 38th Annual Northeast Regional Tournament. See you at center ice!
